Why we make you guess two of the numbers
Because that is the honest shape of the question, and because the guess is the useful part.
Most providers have never measured what share of their claims have no record behind them. Nothing in a claiming system asks that question — claiming software reports on claims, and this is a question about the absence of a record.
So a tool that filled that number in for you would be inventing the most important input and presenting the result as a finding about your organisation. We would rather you type a number you are not confident about and notice that you are not confident about it.
If the figure above is large enough to matter and you had to guess to produce it, that is the answer: it is worth measuring properly.
What this is not
Stated plainly, because every tool of this shape in this market is used to manufacture urgency.
- Not a prediction of money you will lose. Claim value requiring review is not the same as claim value that will be recovered, rejected or clawed back.
- Not based on any published NDIA rate. There is no industry failure rate in this calculation because we do not have a defensible one, and we are not going to make one up.
- Not a measurement. It multiplies your estimate by your revenue. The free audit and the Evidence Exposure Report measure; this one estimates.
- Not specific to your support mix. A SIL-heavy provider and a community-access provider have different risk profiles and this does not know which you are.
